wtf was martinez talking about on sky sports? Does he actually watch the same games than the actual fans do?
we just got stuffed again! and it wont be the last time it happens either if that pillocl stays in charge!I’ll probably get some stick for saying this but I want Martinez to stay, give him a chance. If after 10 games we’re still getting thrashed then moan, but after 2 games don’t moan about how we’re going down. Give them a decent chance.
he said he wasnt concentrating on the score only the performance. ok il give they played half decent in the first half, but that doesnt excuse the shambles they performed in the second.
The table’s just a form table at the minute, I agree with him about that. The table means nothing at this stage.
And I think if he’d brought on some fresh legs after about an hour then we might have kept up the levels of performance. I just think the players looked tired by the hour mark, and before long it was 4-0.
for 1. the defence was all over the place again! 2.we just cant score with 1 forward up front, just doesnt work. There’s just no passion!
I agree that the defence is a shambles, no togetherness there. Back line too high, full backs not pushing out, players out of position, centre backs caught square etc.
Having one up front works if the midfield gets forward to support him, we aren’t supporting Boselli well enough. He looks isolated, and doesn’t have the physicality about him to hold the ball up well. I see him as a poacher who will score, but do little else. But he needs chances to score.
I would disgaree with the lack of passion, I’d just say that morale is so low due to the 2 defeats and lack of support from the crowd.
its proven that playing 4-5-1 with wigan has never worked. and it will continue to. plus whats with playing a striker on the wing (Rodallega) he’s useless playing there! I think we would be a whole lot better playing rodallega up front with boselli!
Well our last 4 prem games have been 2-2 , 0-8, 0-4 and 0-6. Not many goals being scored either, a well organised team from the Conference could do better than that so there is something fundamentally wrong.
Kirkland has been bloody awful and the lone striker looked isolated as usual. Martinez is a nice guy and a snappy dresser and good on TV, but he’s got to go while the season is still young.

I think it will work with a good creative player ‘in the hole’ like Tuncay.
I agree that Rodallega isn’t a winger as he can’t cross, he just cuts inside and shoots either over, wide or both.
But give Martinez time and I think things will improve.
And Garswood, I’m referring to the booing. And the chanting was at a very low level, I think I heard about two chants all game.
After the World cup everyone was saying 4-4-2 was outdated and 4-2-3-1 is the future. Can I ask how this has changed after just a few weeks. (Assuming you want a 4-4-2 formation with your 2 strikers and not a 5-3-2 or a 3-5-2)
im just saying we need 2 strikers up front if we stick to this system that were playing now were definately in the shitter.
