Fantastic point last night. What fills me with a bit more optimism is seeing a bit of fighting spirit in the team, not just in terms of us getting the equaliser when we went down to 10 men, but the way we hung in there to keep that point. We would have folded like a pack of cards last season.
It is also very noticeable that the players seem to be getting on very well on the field and there seems to be a few bonds there. You could see it in the celebrations after the Wolves game and when we got back into the game last night.

30 December 2010 at 3:08 pm #54160I can see us beating Newcastle on Sunday even without N’Zogbia. This upturn in form and team spirit couldn’t have come at a better time.
It may be a coincidence but it appears to have come at the same time as the return of our captain. I’m not Caldwell’s biggest fan but he played okay last night and his never-say-die attitude when it comes to throwing himself at balls is just what we need.
30 December 2010 at 5:05 pm #54172Team spirit will be even better when N’Zogbia leaves
30 December 2010 at 5:11 pm #54176If you take out the first two games of the season, our home form has been really good.
30 December 2010 at 5:14 pm #54177If you take out the first two games of the season, our goal difference would also be respectable
30 December 2010 at 5:26 pm #54182Not Caldwell’s biggest fan myself but he does bring a leader and a bit of british grit to the team
30 December 2010 at 8:00 pm #54209Also thought that it was the first ever game under Martinez where we started the game at tempo, instead of the usual “let’s grow into the game” type approach. More of the same please, Bobby.
