If Darren Bent is worth £18 million we have to hold out for top money for Charlie. We can’t keep letting our best players go for buttons, if we do need to sell at least rip off the club thats buying. He is still under contract :roll: :roll: :roll:

Can’t believe Bent wants to go to Villa, Sunderland seemed to be a settled club, whereas Villa could yet be in a relegation fight for a while (unlikely I admit) and may sack Houllier at some point. Seems a strange move to me.
Incidentally, heard a rumour from a Birmingham-based friend, that there are lots of murmourings among Villa fans that there’s a deal in line to take Figueroa to Villa, while they let Warnock return to Liverpool.

I wouldn’t let him go for any less than 9 million, preferably 10 million. But you know what will happen, whatever he goes for, it will happen very late on in the window, maybe even deadline day itself. So then they can say “we didn’t have time to sign a replacement”
