No surprise that we 2 players linked with moves to Villa, oh we play them tonight. Then another player linked to Liverpool, who yes you have guessed it we play in a few weeks. More than likely we will have a player linked with a move to Blackburn shortly….
25 January 2011 at 12:16 pm #56693Don’t see any ambiguity in that at all, Phil.
Don’t have to sell, which is true, but doesn’t say we won’t.
And he was up front about the anagram that’s on trial

Well for one how is this positive ? I was always under the impression that such things knocked both players and clubs off kilter !!
“It’s speculation, but it’s positive. When you go into a game on the back of a defeat and you read someone wants you, it’s a great lift.
“But to get such a compliment it can only help you as a player and the football club as a whole”.Secondly, how much truth in that nugget?
Asked if he was confident of keeping his squad together this week, Martinez replied: “For me, it’s not an issue.
We’re not talking to any clubs, so it’s not as if there are negotiations that you hope break down”And last but not least bearing in mind that one of these is Figueroa !!
“The players mentioned have been performing really well for the last season and a half, but they’ve still a long way to go”
So in a nutshell, he is taking positives from something that he says is a lie and if it were to be true its a negative in most peoples books ! He also thinks that Figueroa has been playing well for 18 months ?? I am afraid that a few chairs have been knocked over upstairs Bob !!

I am afraid that a few chairs have been knocked over upstairs Bob !!Martinez: ‘Figueroa has been woeful all season, hence why I’ve been playing a right footed centre half at left back recently. Anyway gents, who’s going to start the bidding off?’

Do you think that clubs buy players from what they hear from their respective managers ? He will go to Sunderland because Bruce saw something in him that none of us have ever seen.

He will go to Sunderland because Bruce saw something in him that none of us have ever seen.Obviously not, but if you were trying attract the highest bid possible for one of your players (it’s national media, so it’s not just aimed at Bruce), which tactic would you adopt?
‘He’s useless, deserves to be dropped, and we can’t wait to get rid of him’
or ‘He’s played really well this season, is pivotal to our plans, and we’d hate to see him go’.
It’s not a case of spin or ambiguity, it’s merely common sense.
