Here’s some things I have been thinking, some of which have been touched upon by other people on other threads.
1. Playing one up front. It’s not working. Rodallega is getting crowded out, and it’s clear that we look more of a threat when we stick another striker (Scotland) on. Time to start with two up front.
2. Diame. Considering he’s come in so late, he did very well. But I’m not sure that Hendry Thomas is the right partner for him, just yet. He’s giving a lot of possession away. I think he looks a handy player, but maybe we should break him in a bit gently.
3. Gomez. I really like him as a player, and I think he can be a cracker. But I’m not sure if where he is playing is actually working. I’d like to see him and Koumas swapping positions, if we are to keep this formation.
4. The Defence. NOT good enough. Most of us have been moaning that we need another striker. We don’t, we need better defenders. The marking in the two games this week, has been abysmal. If it continues, it will get us relegated. I don’t think any of the back 4 today, are good enough.
Am I worried? Yes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still glad Roberto’s come back, and I’m glad we’re attempting to play good football. But I also think that we may end up getting relegated if we don’t shape ourselves.
At the end of the day, we’ve spent sod all money, and already, it’s starting to show. Badly. :( I mean quality, not quantity. Proven Premiership players.
