I see Ferguson plans to play a team of reserves and fringe players against Blackpool. I trust he will get fined for this (but I’m not holding my breath)
Just wondering what the reaction would have been if Bruce had played our reserves against Utd on the last day a couple of years ago….we had nothing to play for and risked injuring our best players….
:angry-banghead:11 May 2011 at 6:09 pm #65111Their reserves are still going to be pretty good. Anderson, Owen, Evans et al
11 May 2011 at 6:35 pm #65112Yes, that is what Utd will say.
Point is, they are supposed to play their best team, according to the rules. If Blackpool stay up by beating Utd reserves it’ll stink.
A few years ago, Liverpool played their reserves against Fulham and lost, nearly sending us down. They still put a good side out, with Fowler amongst them, but lost. Nothing was done against them.
11 May 2011 at 7:28 pm #65115If Blackpool stay up by beating Utd reserves it’ll stink. To be fair, if we get relegated it will because we don’t get enough points not because Blackpool get too many (regardless of who/what sort of side they get them against)
if we can’t get enough points to stay up then we deserve to go down11 May 2011 at 7:52 pm #65116Anonymous
if we stay down it will be a mixture of bad first half of season, bad reffing, and us shooting ourselves in the foot over the last 3 games :angry-banghead: :angry-banghead:
11 May 2011 at 8:04 pm #65117It has nothing to do with the refs. If we go down it will be down to a team who are not good enough and a manager out of his depth and too stuborn to admit it
11 May 2011 at 8:08 pm #65118Correct..
11 May 2011 at 8:08 pm #65119Anonymous
that was my point that its mainly down to us though the shocking refs havent helped
11 May 2011 at 10:50 pm #65124On team selection, as we all know, its one rule for the big clubs like Utd and Liverpool, and another for the small clubs like Blackpool, Wolves and us.
12 May 2011 at 4:38 am #65145I think the original post was about being fined if manure play a weakened side. like blackpool got fined earlier this season against villa even though they nearly won.
They wont cos one rule for them and one rule for the others
if thats the case its just another example of just how corrupt the prem league is.
12 May 2011 at 11:53 am #65152Football is corrupt pal.
But the likes of Utd rest their players throughout the season when they play a lesser team like us.If we go down it is not because of Utd ..its want went on during the season and that is why we are where we are down at the bottom..so ask yourself who is to blame and it is not Utd..A manager who is not up to it,a chairman who as put enough money and had enough or a team with a championship captain at best directing us ?All true ..dont blame other teams if we go down..
12 May 2011 at 12:50 pm #65155Yes, my original post was only about Utd and the fact that if they play a weakened team, they’ll get away with it where others like Blackpool, Wolves etc don’t. And they’d be showing no respect to those at the bottom of the league.
If we go down it will mainly be due to our own shortcomings.
12 May 2011 at 1:03 pm #65156who says there gunna play a weakened team?
have they already played blackburn and won r drawn ?12 May 2011 at 1:10 pm #65158Fergie..
13 May 2011 at 11:10 pm #65273Uniteds weakened team will be the team good enough to win a champions league semi final. Don’t worry about it.
