Little Wigan. Annoying the media for another season – Come Onnnnn!!!
22 May 2011 at 10:09 pm #66300Here’s one.
Well done Martinez for showing he can get results when it matters, on both occasions by altering his tactical approach. Lets hope he learns from this and becomes more flexible next season.
But, to keep Latics in the Prem for two seasons will look good on his CV and lets hope he can keep this young side together and develop it further.
22 May 2011 at 10:13 pm #66302Don’t think he altered his tactical approach at all.
Stayed 4-3-3, the only time he went for it gung ho style was against West Ham, play like that every week and we’ll go the way of Blackpool.
Less of the ‘I told you so’ comments and more of the ‘Well done Martinez you deserved to stay up and keep your job’ type comments.
22 May 2011 at 10:19 pm #66304Duke – finally, I agree with you. ;)
Piengravy – I’m sure Roberto welcomes your tactical genius and will take it on board.
22 May 2011 at 10:25 pm #66305So Zog, playing as a conventional left winger, going past the right back and putting over a cross with his favoured left foot for Rodallega to head home wasn’t a change to what we’ve seen all season with Zog on right?
I may not be a tactical genius like Martinez, but I can see the obvious unlike some others on here….

I knew this day would come one day Griff!
And piengravy – You’ve made the same mistake as Alan Smith, it was Figueroa that cross it for Hugo, not N’Zogbia.
22 May 2011 at 10:27 pm #66307YE HAAAAAAA! from the dark side. :happy-partydance:
22 May 2011 at 10:30 pm #66308they’re all waiting for next season ready to berate the manager when we lose a tight game to man utd.

leave it alone lad and dont dig a bigger hole than the one you are in it was FIGS who crossed for hugos goal.
give some credit where it is due, fair or foul means martinez has proved his critics -no bigger one than me – wrong.
22 May 2011 at 11:13 pm #66316Sorry – not being lucky enough to be at the game, or to have Sky Interactive, I had to rely on Sky goal flash and Radio 5, who both stated, obviously incorrectly, that Zog had put the cross in.
Well done Bobby for keeping us up. As Richie Benaud said in the cricket world, captaincy is 90% skill and 10% luck, but don’t try it without the luck. Bobby clearly has that bit of luck to go with his management skill. When his back has been against the wall he’s shown flexibility and some courage which is to his credit.
I look forward to next season. Hopefully we’ll see a bit more variety from Bobs preferred model of narrow 4-5-1, which over two seasons I think has shown doesn’t really work for us.
