i was very pleased with all aspects of the game today. very good all round team performance & from my view, things seem to be clicking in all areas. this win today now makes us unbeaten in the last 5 games – never thought i’d be saying that.
only spoiler was some moaning bugger behind me saying that we were lucky to win cos they hit the woodwork 3 times. i pointed out how we had hit the woodwork in the last 2 games which would have turned our draws into wins, thus today, it evened itself out.
27 August 2011 at 8:41 pm #70537I have a theory though (mind you, I am barking mad) that Ali’s positioning helps us immensely in that by closing down the area available to shoot at he “forces” woodwork hits. If you see what I mean.

Try again. A striker has to hit the ball past the keeper. If the keeper has reduced the area to shoot at then it is more likely that shots will hit the woodwork.
