28 August 2011 at 11:10 am #705871. Many of the empty seats were the “Club Wembley” seats – you’ll find them empty for most events.
2. Many of the remainder were unsold by Leeds. I’m sure you noticed how full the Wigan end was.
3. The DW was filled yesterday by about 5,000 free tickets being distributed (totally free – not Corporate ones). I also suspect all ST holders were counted. You are kidding yourself if you truly believe that 3,000 more home fans paid to watch Wigan v QPR than paid to watch Wigan v Man Utd last year, where only 13500 bothered to show up. And before you bleat about the price of that particular fixture, compare it to the 10500 who showed up for the Man City & Newcastle games.
If you dispute point 3, then I wait with baited breath for 16500 home fans to show up for the next home game when the free tickets are not around in such huge numbers.
Now excuse me, but I have a Challenge Cup homecoming parade to get ready for.
28 August 2011 at 12:51 pm #70593There were plenty empty seats in the wigan end at wembley or did u have your deluded glasses on, 5000 lmao
28 August 2011 at 1:04 pm #70597A mate of mine took his son to the final yesterday (both latics season tickets holders) His first RL game in 10 years by my reckoning, when I ask him why he told me he wanted to show his lad Wembley but more importantly the tickets only cost a tenner!
A tenner ffs!

28 August 2011 at 4:37 pm #70622Why did the DW stadium ticket office send over 2000 Unsold tickets back to Wembley on Friday afternoon?
