I knew there would be at least one….FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
first reaction was that this was a stupid idea;
however, on reflection I think that never having to play the top 20 teams (whoever they are), other than in cup games, would be ok for us (and many others);
being in the Premiership is a bit of a bitter sweet thing – a great novelty at first but a bit meaningless with nothing to play for other than avoiding relegation after a while;
in the absence of playing the ‘big boys’ then we may again have a realistic chance of being competitive
in this sense staying in the championship would be ok by me if by some fluke we achieve a promotion place next season having been relegated this season – maybe we could be the first team ever to ‘turn down’ promotion to the EPL?
