Apparently Bob is willing to pay £1.2m for his services in the transfer window. Hope not IMO he has never looked like a Premiership player and is not exactly shining at Ipswich.
6 January 2012 at 2:41 pm #77054I’ve only seen Andrews playing for Ipswich in one televised game at Barnsley , a month or so ago. They were 2 down at half time , looked down and out and I feared for Jewell’s job. In the second half they blitzed Barnsley and won , I think , 5-2. The main man in this comeback was Keith Andrews. He was everywhere , constantly urging the others and even scored two goals himself.
He may not be the most skilful player but he could be just what we’ve needed for a long time. That is , a leader and a voice on the pitch. I remember one home game a while ago , no idea which game, we had just conceded a goal and I looked at our players reactions as they walked back into position. The only player shouting and encouraging the others was the only just arrived Van Aarnholt !!
We have a very young and inexperienced team. We need a Keith Andrews type player.

Well if he was any good do you not think Blackburn would have kept him or called him back???? Anyway since when has doing well in the Championship been a guarantee of success in the Premiership???
We as a club should know that better than most,
6 January 2012 at 8:55 pm #77080Yer your right , Should we sign Wayne Rooney instead then?

I wouldn’t trust Blackburn’s collective management to sit the right way on the bog, to be honest. ;)
6 January 2012 at 10:33 pm #77091I expect I’ve probably seen him play more than most on here. I live in the people’s republic of MK and so go to a few games a season to see MK Dons play. Yeah, I know, but it beats shopping.
Anyway, he was a very good player in Division One. He was also a leader on the pitch. However, he got his break in the big time because Paul Ince moved from MK Dons to Blackburn and took him along for the ride. So, if you’re not sure about Andrews then ask yourself if you trust Paul Ince’s judgement.
For me it’s a definite ‘No’, but then WTF do I know.
6 January 2012 at 10:39 pm #77092Is it true that he is the great grandson of Eamonn and the nephew of Archie?
6 January 2012 at 10:40 pm #77093Oh yeah, and he’s no Diame replacement.
Momo can run with the ball, has a sense of urgency and can up the tempo whenever he gets involved. Andrews is much more a Ben Watson type player, always showing for the ball, but no speed, no urgency, tends to slow the play down not speed it up. Should fit in perfectly with our squad ;)
Now I’ve said all that, if he does sign, get your money on him winning Player of the Season and bagging ten goals!

when does momo have a sense of urgency?
7 January 2012 at 2:47 am #77132when does momo have a sense of urgency? When he’s back tracking over his descriptions of Wigan and its female inhabitants to the French press?
OK, maybe not the best choice of words, but he does run with the ball in a relatively direct way and tends to be a bit more penetrating than others.
