C’mon DW, get it sorted.
This sort of thing must dent your pride.
At least, let’s not go down without a fight.

read my previous topic please thanks love – x -……..I looked at the prem table and GUESS WHAT….WE HAVEN’T MOVED
So your not bothered that we just got well beat by a league 2 team??? The players who played today will be very well paid and a part of Bobbies super squad wanting to stake a claim for first team football.

Hindley, why can’t you see that the Club in total is clearly not interested in the FA Cup. It clearly doesn’t fit with any financial or squad-health (can’t think of a better phrase) plan? Martinez has treated the cups this way since Day 1.
So, if Whelan and the club management doesn’t agree with it they have had ample opportunity to make him treat them differently. They clearly are not arsed either.
The only person more hysterical than you lot on here is that Menk Di Canio who wants a statue erecting to mark the occasion when the mighty Wigan Athletic were humbled by his team.

Griff remember back in the day when you used to play football even in a kick about I bet you liked to win??? I know I did, and some of those players may have been playing for a first team shirt. Even if the club don’t care I would have thought the players would be playing for personal pride???

Absolutely mate, still do it now on a Thursday night 5-a-side. And that’s my point. For whatever reasons, as I’ve mentioned many times over the last 24 hours, the club has decided it’s not interested in the cup. That should have had no effect on the players that were picked, especially the fringe players with something to prove.
With the best will in the world, Martinez would find it hard to motivate those fringe players when by picking them he is virtually saying I’m not that arsed about this game. But that shouldn’t matter. Their own personal pride should kick in but I’m afraid in this day and age it just doesn’t apply. It says more about the players than it does about Martinez.

First of all Rodders, I’ll excuse the abuse that you aimed at me because I am bigger than childish name calling.
Secondly, it doesn’t really matter whether I am referring to being down and out of the cup or the league. The point being it is another game lost by our Premiership squad and it’s all to easy for apathy to set in and losing to become acceptable. Who is the driving force at our club and where is that never say die Wigan spirit that got us here in the first place. The drive and enthusiasm has to come from the top, and unfortuneately our leader appears to be unusually quiet in recent months.

Yeah, we know, because you make that same sort of glib, sarcastic response in almost every post. You’re conveniently forgetting the Chelsea and Liverpool performances, I assume?

Swallows and Summer and all that !! Its great when we perform like that but unfortunately its the old ” Shop window ” syndrome in my view ! Its a pity more players don’t put in a shift on a regular basis. Also the defensive lapses are all too frequent and really do need addressing. The goal difference doesn’t lie ! At the end of the day all I am really saying is things havent exactly been great since the arrival of Martinez and in my opinion we have regressed. I am allowed an opinion and will continue you to voice it re Martinez as that is what a football forum is for ! Just because the chairman says he isnt going anywhere doesnt mean fans cant vent their spleen does it !! By the way the good times that some refer to on here ie the Arsenal comeback, I would swap that for a run of say 3 victories on the bounce against mid table opposition !
