It was a decent performance today if a little tedious but the fact that we couldn’t get on the score sheet against a fairly poor Villa side concerns me ! Caldwell led with example from the back and the back line were fairly solid again. However Moses, McCarthy and Gomez were poor today and I feel a spell on the subs bench is in order for said trio !
Phil how dare you suggest Gomez is poor, edit you post quickly before you get hammered for such a flippant comment.

Our lack of goals could well lead to our demise from the Prem !
i know it sounds daft but what i mean is we play some good stuff at times and if we have an end product ie goals we would be higher up the league and the media and pundits would be saying what a decent side we are compared with the other teams around us who from what ive seen are no wher near as good as us.
I really think that they should have let Hugo go if they had received an offer ( Nobody actually knows if we did or not ! ) and we should have replaced him with someone who can score goals ! Anyone !!

Thought it was a decent performance today, but as much as Di Santo worked hard, he rarely looked like scoring. Yet again, Rodallega’s second touch was either a header or a tackle.
And I’ve said it before, I wish Boselli had given it another go.
agree but think martinez has been playing hugo out of position all season, wide right, might be better playing him in a striker position with some support, 442.
Easier said than done, I’ve been speaking with a well respected striker this week, he moved in the summer and Wigan would have been right up his street, fact is they don’t pay what even decent championship clubs pay, and you can’t blame lads for going where the money is can you.

whatever formation we play we cant score and thats the problem at the moment.i dont know what the answer is and its frustrating to watch.
Would it be even more frustrating if we didnt get corners or close a man down and even show a bit of effort and if I was to go on a bit of a rant what about the defence today was they not outstanding a clean sheet
not much mentioned about that then is there all to often fans are up for critcism and dont show the positives
