First off, I feal as bas as anyone. I have watched us a long time, so know about all players etc, so no need to remind me. However…..
Things got heated recently and despite what a lot want, we have got what we have got until the seasons end. ( Tin Hat Ready )
Interest could soar if we overcome Norwich, but currently I have 10 names off another forum you will know.
Before the West Brom match, I’m thinking if we could get a few of us down to the stadium early to give support to all the players as they arrive.
Probably only an hour or hour and fifteen, but could it make a difference to have the players interact and give every one of them a personal applause etc and wish them the best of luck?
If we can get enough, the club will sort out Sky TV coverage and we would be seen in a completely different light to what Blackburn fans or seen.
Afterwards, go for a pint and something to eat and then spread the atmosphere around the stadium to try and make the players feal like we are supporting them because we believe they can do it, rather than waiting for the worst to happen.
It can’t do any harm, but could do a world of good for the players and would definitely show the fans in a great light?
If anyone believes it would help, send me a message with your name and I will add to a list which I will forward to the club to sort out Sky if we get enough.
Opinions please?8 March 2012 at 11:48 pm #82764Anonymous
we could just get behind them, when they actually need us
9 March 2012 at 12:09 pm #82778we could just get behind them, when they actually need usAnd they could try and do the right things and give us something to get behind. A bit of excitement, shots on target, making the opposing goal keeeper make some saves, quick passing football.
Remember those days Moggy when you actually looked forward to going to the JJB/DW???
9 March 2012 at 12:45 pm #82779I’m all in for supporting the club and the players, maybe if they set up a mobile bar outside the ground, the swell of fans will come. :)
Best thing to do is to start that feckin great escape tune and sing through the game, give the players some inspiration as leaving it upto them doesnt seem to work !

It’s catch 22 Hindley. The players have nothing from the crowd to spur them on, and the crowd won’t spur them on because they’re not seeing anything to cheer.
Babis is trying to get the ball rolling.

Utter rubbish standish,If i go to the theatre i go to be entertained,if it is rubbish i wont go again,i thought football was supposed to be entertaining, so we turn up at a game and its cack like its been all season people wont go again simple as.catch 22 my backside :)

So, if it’s purely entertainment you’re after, why get p*ssed off when Wigan lose? The other team must have been worth watching, and after all, you’re just there to watch football and be entertained.
Do you not got to the match to lend your support, or because you’re compelled to go as it’s your team that is playing?
Do you dispute that teams often play better with a strong support behind them?
Do you dispute that the crowd’s level of support grows as the team plays better?
So how is that not a catch twenty two?
Go on, serious answers and no reference to teddies or words with the letter a hilariously substituted for the @ symbol.

Hi all, I’ll give you all a bit of an update.
Now on Vital for you to see via the link.
Papers have been contacted and if there are enough of us, then Sky TV.
The WASTC will be in support, with all sorts of stuff dependant on the result we get at Norwich.
A win at Norwich and we leave the bottom 3, then we can look forward to a very tasy game v West Brom with a cracking atmosphere. If we win that game after what we’re doing, it will feal so satisfying.
If we lose after doing nothing, then the questions of what if would surface.9 March 2012 at 9:41 pm #82818Anonymous

10 March 2012 at 12:17 am #82823If we are going down lets go down with at least an effort of support, lets sing and chant till the end its still the club we love.

A win today and suddenly things will look a whole lot rosier.
If Hugo and Di Santo can get on the scoresheet, then their confidence will soar.
Time to stand up and be counted. A win today will send a shockwave through the resto of the league and no doubt people will be ripping up betting slips, throwing coupons in the bin etc.
It will be there own fault though, keep betting against Wigan Athletic and you get bit on the arse.11 March 2012 at 4:05 pm #82918A win today and suddenly things will look a whole lot rosier.

11 March 2012 at 4:56 pm #82919Optimism and confidence are what we have left – and not everyone has that, Griff.
I’m with babis and bob16 here – if we go down let’s not go down meekly – and certainly, folks, no crying on TV while wearing fancy dress. It looks ridiculous – in fact you look a Wally.
But maybe – just maybe —-
12 March 2012 at 12:38 am #82971i agree with bob 16. lets go out fighting if need be. lets spur the lads on & get behind them all the time as opposed to moaning every time something goes wrong
12 March 2012 at 1:57 am #82996I will throw this one out to ya….If the sun is shining and the temp is pretty warm you may get 30 or 40 fans up for this. If it is pissing it down and freezing cold you will get you and a couple of die hard’s ! Sorry but that may be well factual ! Anyone from here wanting to dis me re my opinion, you better be there !! I hate to say it but this is a lame duck ! Good luck !
