If we can keep up the level of performance from the last 2 games we are going to go down fighting with our heads held high. We all know the arguements Lightside and Darkside but we played really well yesterday and actually it was exciting. It was probably our best home performance of the season and the only down side was we didn’t win when we created enough chances to win 3 games.

Other than the Swansea game I think our last 5 or 6 performances have been really good, but the problem is we haven’t got the points we’ve deserved.

Was very happy yesterday but I am at a complete loss as to how we didn’t put some of those chances away.
18 March 2012 at 2:17 pm #83428All good points and to a degree I do agree with what you all say – however and it is a big however
If we agree that the last 5 / 6 games have seen an improvement then why has it taken 23 games to get to that point
I would be interested to hear your views on that
18 March 2012 at 3:07 pm #83430We have improved in the last 5-6 games but fact still remains that the striker issue which has been here 3 seasons was not addressed. We know that is a difficult position to rectify but surely anyone would have been better than the goal shy crew we’ve had.Imagine where we would be if just 2 of the numerous chances we had against Villa,Norwich,Everton,W Brom had been poked in.His 3 season commitment to 1 up top has signed our relegation certificate especially when the one is Di Santo,Rodellega ,Sammon ,Yakubu has hit more than all 3 combined .
18 March 2012 at 3:29 pm #83434But Mr unknown dead body man says stop moaning because we shouldn’t really be in the Prem in the first place and he remembers when all this was fields and you could go on holiday and leave your front door unlocked ! Oh and Goole away !!! He doesn’t realize that there are in excess of 10,000 new fans who have different and more ambitious views than his austere slant on things !!
18 March 2012 at 3:46 pm #83436goodpost Someone said to me last night .”Who should we have signed then ,Kevin f*****g Phillips “.My answer was one word ,Yes .A striker of his ilk would have slid a few home albeit only as a short term fix,and the difference betwwen survival/sink.
18 March 2012 at 4:01 pm #83438I said Kevin Phillips at the beginning of the season and not one person agreed with me. I was shot down in flames. I’m the only one who called KP
18 March 2012 at 4:26 pm #83439I don’t know if you noticed but every single striker mentioned was put down by the Darkside ! Either, he wont be good enough and he is untried in Prem or he won’t want to come here ! Like I said, just stand there grinning for 90mins every home game and walk in line !
18 March 2012 at 4:37 pm #83441Part of me just thinks Roberto can’t handle too many experienced older pros in a squad, regardless of his alleged recruitment policy.

Just look how easy Jason Roberts is making it look at Reading yest he was useless latterly at Blackburn. Absolutely no guarantee that Phillips would have scored here.

A much, much improved all round performance yesterday but we simply cannot continue to spurn all those chances. I see no logical reason why suddenly we will start to put them away regularly.
Realistically we will get nothing from Arsenal, Chelsea and United. Fulham and Liverpool away will be difficult but perhaps a point can be nicked. That leaves the three remaining home games and Blackburn away which now really appear to be “must win”.

He doesn’t realize that there are in excess of 10,000 new fans who have different and more ambitious views than his austere slant on things !! :dry:Maybe some of those 10,000 new fans should take a look at the clubs history, and realise that it isn’t all sweetness and light, that you’ve got to take the good with the bad, that a club goes through highs and lows, and a proper supporter will stick with it throughout and enjoy it because he loves his club. You write off history and the past as if it has no bearing, well it does, it’s a very good predictor of future trends, and there’s bigger clubs with far more history than us plying their trade in the championship, just who the fuck do you think we are, giving it Bertie big bollocks, like we have a god given right to be a top ten premier league club. You talk like you know more about football and management than Bobby himself, and that you care more about the club than he does, but You my friend are a jcl, fair weather fan, and will be one of the first to fuck off when we are mid table in the championship, but never mind, you could always hope Blackpool bounce straight back up and then you can jump on their bandwagon until the wheels come off, then you could go on the Blackpool forum in a few years, calling for holloways head and saying how shit the team is, see what real Blackpool fans think about your opinion then, it’ll be the same as Wigan fans now, fuck all, you boring repetitive prick.
