From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!30 April 2012 at 4:16 am #86219Isn’t this a little like the “who’s going down” sticky at the top of the page?
30 April 2012 at 4:18 am #86220I reckon we can get something at Chelsea, plenty twists and turns yet, and villa will be bricking it too, they’re in the shit I’m telling you, that MacLeish is jinxed!!
I posted that 4 weeks and 1 day ago, and i followed it up 2 weeks later with:
I think 39 points see’s us safe, in fact I think the win at Blackburn will see us safe, and I’ll still stand by my prediction a couple of weeks ago that Villa will go down, it is more than feasible that they will draw a couple and lose three, and that could well see them gone!!
I reckon there’s always a ‘story’ at the top and bottom of the league, always a bit of irony. I think at the bottom, it will be macleish taking villa down the year after taking birmingham down. And at the top, it will be Mark hughes’ team costing Man City the title, the man they sacked and an old trafford legend to boot! Wish i was a betting man, because i’d have got good odds a month ago with my gut feelings!
30 April 2012 at 10:40 am #86224Even if Villa lose their next two games they still wont be relegated. 37 points(with their GD) is enough.
30 April 2012 at 12:41 pm #86229Even when all the other clubs at the bottom can get 40 points or more from the remaining games
Have villa got special dispensation or something? Or is that just your opinion?
30 April 2012 at 12:51 pm #86230Blackburn & QPR will go down IMHO. Wigan will win at Ewood Park next week to send Blackburn down. Bolton will get enough points from WBA & Stoke to survive. QPR might win at the weekend, but they wont win their last game too.
38 points will be enough to stay up.

Wolves/Blackburn obivously will not catch them.
I dont think ourselves/Bolton/QPR will all get 38 points or more.
In my opinion Villa are Safe.
30 April 2012 at 4:31 pm #86247Bolton to lose against Spurs on Wednesday and then they are going to the wire with QPR for the final relegation place.
I think we will draw with Blackburn on Saturday and relegate them and this will be enough for us to survive but I think Bolton will then collect 4 points from their last 2 games against West Brom and then Stoke so they will end up with 38 points with us but their goal difference will be that little worse that ours.
QPR to beat Stoke and have 37 points but have to go to City last game which they are going to get nothing from and Villa to beat Norwich to get 40 points.
So after that long winded answer, Wolves, Blackburn and QPR for the drop

Us to finish on only 38 points?I agree that is the safety figure but come on!
On current form it has to be 6 points from those last two games surely.
We will wrap up safety in style next monday especially after what i saw from Blackburn at Spurs yesterday-looked as if they have given up already. -
