Great pictures-weirdest stadium i have ever been to is the old Man city ground when they placed a stand virtually in the street outside to house away supporters.
Anyone remember this?
What about spookiest stadiums?
That for me is the old Ewood park with that spooky old stand with its ancient beams.9 June 2012 at 3:34 pm #88982strangest one i rember most
was when blackpool moved their pitch and stand we was in it did not feel like we was at the game
anyone else remember it9 June 2012 at 4:37 pm #88984Brighton’s ground was pretty crap before they built the new stadium.
Was weird watching the game tucked away in that little pen. Only went the once but came home very happy with a resounding victory and a superb Jimmy Bullard strike from 30 yards. goodpostFrom Matlock to ManU

anyone else remember itMicky Flynn scored and started to run the 30 yards or so towards our fans, when he suddenly realised there were hundreds running towards HIM. He turned and legged it

strangest one i rember most

anyone else remember itMy first ever away game this. Also the first time I ever saw 6ft transexuals with stuble all over their FACES, but that is another story. Friday evening kick off and live on Sky if memory serves me correctly. I seem to remember the first 5 or 6 rows actually being below pitch (and possibly even sea) level.
How about Crewe as a strange stadium? The 2 stands behind the goals less than 1000 capacity, the one along the width that holds about 1500, then that giant sky skraper of a stand in comparison on the other side!
9 June 2012 at 10:05 pm #89018Weirdest one I’ve been to is on that link – Braga.
There’s a car park/coach park at the top of the cliff and you take a lift down to the seats. Not good for someone with a fear of heights.
10 June 2012 at 4:49 am #89034For me the Olympic stadium in Barcelona was home to Espanol but i believe they have since moved.

You’re correct about Espanyol leaving the stadium a few years back. It’s now got no regular tennants and pretty much just hosts big pop / rock concerts and the odd one off sporting event. Don’t the Warriors want their own ground…?
The Olympics in Barcelona was just bizzare full stop, especially if anybody has been to the man made beach they built in the middle of the city centre.
11 June 2012 at 1:08 pm #89073I ran the line at a Marine game last season & that is an odd little ground.
No stand down the whole of one side as the pitch backs straight on to people’s back gardens & the dug outs on that side virtually encroach on to the pitch.
The other side is virtually the same but they’ve managed a covered stand with 2 steps of terracing. Half of one side has a terrace for away fans & then the side of someone’s house.
They’ve managed to build a decent stand on the only area where they have any space behind one of the goals
And the crust on the pie I got for my after match meal was a bit burnt & the gravy was runny11 June 2012 at 2:42 pm #89075Northampton’s The County Ground was a strange one with only 3 stands and the a cricket pitch where the 4 th stand should have been !
