Still not signed for a club yet,he must be worth a punt on a pay as you play contract,does anyone else think the same ?
A big risk even on a pay as you play.Unfortunately his injuries mean you will not get a player you can call upon regularly and when needed.I think Michael is now just a luxury player who you can use only when its right for him.Such a shame as he was a real talent but for us it would have to be a big no coz we cannot afford to carry any player.
He was my sons hero when he was growing up and i remember telling my then 12 year old that Owen (as we watched him stumble and struggle during a Sven era England game against naff opposition) was overpaid,very limited and very overated.
You cant imagine my shock as my lad got up from his chair and gave me some fearful abuse and the stormed off to his room slamming the door as hard as he could.
That was well over 10 years ago and i feel now he is only worth a pay as you play and a bonus scheme for goals return.
A grand a game with big bonuses if he scored 10 goals plus is all he is worth in my view but somehow i think his career may be coming to an end -i think he lost his hunger years ago!
I would sooner see some young lad from the lower divisions given a chance than Owen!
