I’d suggest that they have at least some brains, especially financially, given that Sullivan is a self made millionaire, worth a reported 600 million. If he wants to spunk a chunk of that up the wall, buying players for his club, then who are we to argue?
At the end if the day, he’s bought a club, took them to the premier league, and is now trying to keep them there, by buying big, it’s a gamble, sure, but come what may, if he ended up selling the club further down the line, it would be valued on assets ( including players) and if they were in the prem at that time, all the better. He may lose money in the long run, but he could turn a profit, either way I don’t think it’s a lack of brains, more a lack of real consequence as he’s not going to lose much compared to his overall wealth.
Horses for courses, we do it one way, they do it another, world still turns.
