Was really looking forward to last night’s game. Thought that some of our fringe players would really step up to the plate and produce a memorable performance. The experienced players in our starting midfield line up failed to take control and be creative or inspirational. Was looking to these guys to lead by example and help the young bloods through the game. We ran out of ideas as quickly as the fifteenth minute !
Why did Bob not play Golly as centrehalf and put Watson in the middle of midfield ? Even us non Managers could have worked that one out. Might as well have put Polly in nets and Ali up front with Boselli, if you are going to tinker with players out of position.
Watson’s penalty was 1st class, no fannying about, just hit it like a rocket; please take note J.G.
All in all, very disappointing indeed. Good job that Arsenal staged an amazing comeback; which got the Journo’s attention, instead of the Latics being be-littled.
For me, two players ( guess who ) and our Manager basically lost us the chance of a place in the last eight.

Boselli & Stam weren’t too sparkling either.
I thought Watson did okay, but would have been a better bet in midfield than the two crabs mentioned above.
On a positive note at least Martinez should now realise that we are short of competent back up players should injuries/suspensions hit us.For me, two players ( guess who ) and our Manager basically lost us the chance of a place in the last eight.
