6 November 2012 at 10:20 pm #96312Pollitt,you cannot be serious, the only thing pollitt is a legend for is stealing a living,he is on easy street

David Unsworth Emile Heskey Paul scharner hugo rodders (purely for stoke winner)
Lee mCulloch jimmy Bullard John Filan …..In fact an player who had any relevant input into our premierleague journey from day one.
Paul Jewell and roberto Martinez.
Steve Bruce just misses out to the guy who cleans the toilets in the away dressing rooms. It was a close call though.

I repeat: Pollitt
7 November 2012 at 2:52 am #96326when i think of a legend, i think of someone who gave their all for wigan athletic, there have been a few down the years, but very few during our premier league stint…thats because of the greed and money that the premier league generates…mercenaries after an easy pay day.
so im gonna say lee mculloch for starters, not the best player weve ever had, but he made the best of he ability that he did have. a guy that gave 100% and thats good enough for me.
a bit of a controversial one, but im gonna say emile heskey…ridiculed by many, but i think a perfect fit for us. good leader of the line, and THAT performance at sheff utd should get him in on its own….and lets not forget, as a wigan athletic player, got picked for ENGLAND as number 9.
and thirdly, im gonna say emerson boyce..stayed with us when others have left, and still lookin fairly solid enough for a couple more years, does he hold our most appearance record in the premier league?
thats my opinion anyroad.

For overall contribution during Premiership years it has to be Emerson Boyce. For once off stand out moments Hugo (v Stoke) and Heskey (v Sheff Utd). I’d also give N’Zogbia a mention for his contribution to the 2010/11 season.
7 November 2012 at 2:11 pm #96342all in my eyes as they are all our players
8 November 2012 at 12:56 am #96352Tough one, I’d stump for Boyce as he gives 100% all the time.
Other than Boyce, maybe Roberts for our first every prem goal…9 November 2012 at 12:24 am #96396all the lot of them, with a special mention of JIMMY BULLARD.
9 November 2012 at 1:11 am #96397You asked for opinions you got mine, pollitt,my arse :silly:

9 November 2012 at 12:38 pm #96402I thought the OP only asked for players who had been with us only in the Premiership:
“since weve been promoted apart from who was with us in the championship ”In that case I think Boyce wins hands down
9 November 2012 at 12:49 pm #96403I know he was with us before the Prem then left. 1999-2002 =126 games.
However he came back for the Prem 2005-2007 = 52 games.and helped us to establish our roots in our early Prem days.top bloke and legend.Remember going to Halifax in a friendly to see one of boyces first games for us I didn’t think he would still be with us still .but yes he also top bloke and tics legend.
