Interesting to note the Latics home fixture from fifty years ago this week ! Latics had no fixture on New Years Day , but on January 5th 1963 played Frickley Colliery at home in the Cheshire League , winning 2 – 0 ( scorers Kinsella 4min & O’Loughlin 38min) . The attendance was 1,276 …… today they will face world famous Manchester United at home with an attendance we could only have dreamed about all those years ago ! Enjoy the occassion Latics fans ! :cheer:

What a journey!Think the flag was the NPL Winners Flag , which would be from 1970/71 , when we won the league ! Still my favourite all time Latics Team as a ten year old ! Favourite all time Latics player ” Geoff Davies ” who I met at the DW a few years ago ….. a great man ! Wish we had him up front today ! :)
some great players heart and sole for the club unlike the mercenaries we see todaySpingfield Park was the plaice to be.
