Wigan Athletic players Mike Pollitt and Ali Al Habsi show that they cared last week by offering their services at the Oak Hotel, in aid of Children in Need. Here is the details of yet more giving by the players….

As the nation was gripped in ‘Children In Need’ frenzy last week, Latics stars Ali Al Habsi and Mike Pollitt did their bit for Pudsey at the BRIDGING THE GAP HAS GOT TALENT competition, held at the Oak Hotel in Wigan.

Ali and Mike were on hand to hand out the awards for the winners of the competition, which included Elvis Lady Gaga, and a Kung Fu with Wafers Act!!

Ali Al Habsi said: “It’s really important for football clubs to feel close to the local people, and I am always happy to come and help!”

Mike Pollitt, always at home behind a microphone, added: “People were clearly having a laugh and helping to raise money for a great cause, and it was a pleasure to be able to be involved.”

The event, which raised over £1,000, was organised by Bridging The Gap, an innovative training programme designed to help people who have experienced substance misuse related problems gain the skills needed to become work ready.

Ali and Mike are pictured with the winners of the contest, LADIES GONE GAGA!
