It’s that time of year where we on Cockney Latic can decide who we think has been the Wigan Athletic player of the 2009 – 2010 season, there has been ups and downs, but we know we are safe now and can enjoy the final games.
It has been a very weird season for Latics, on the one hand beating Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Chelsea, but with horrible memories of Portsmouth away.
But at the end of the day Roberto said this was going to be a rough season and the number one priority was to get through this season of transition and still be in the Premier League, he has managed this.
As we go into the last games of the season we know we will be entering our sixth consecutive year in the Elite League in Europe if not the World in not just football but any sport anywhere.
Bobby says that next season id the start of a push up the league which may well see us challenging for those European slots in a couple of years. To do this he has to have the right personnel and with the new rules over squads next season, you will probably see a few changes at the DW Stadium.
But for now we would like to ask you to vote for your player of the season by going to the home page (click here) and clicking on the player you feel has been the best on the voting form on the right, you’ll have to scroll down a bit.
