Wigan Athletic will start off their 6th season in the Premier League with a trip to new boys Blackpool, the first home game will an early opportunity to get revenge on title holders Chelsea.
Blackpool away would possibly have been better later in the season but it isn’t, we’ll make the relatively short journey there to open up our league campaign as it is pencilled in for the weekend of the 14th August ( I say pencilled as it could well be moved).
The first home game will be against the Title Holders Chelsea, Latics will want to bury the demons of the last day hammering by them and this will be a good opportunity for Bobby to see how his team will cope against the big boys of the league.
The last game of the season will see us travel to Stoke City, whilst we will be away on Boxing Day to visit Wolverhampton Wanderers. New Year’s Day has the Toon Army hitting the DW Stadium and we will travel to Sunderland on St. George’s Day.
