If there was a time for Wigan Athletic to pull a win out of the bag it would be against Everton on Saturday, here is the preview with ticket details
After the very disappointing result against Blackburn in midweek, we really could do with a morale boosting performance and three points at home this weekend. Unfortunately we are pitted against an Everton side that hasn’t lost a league game in their last 8 outings.
Latics on the other hand are desperately trying to get a good run of results going and it is glaringly obvious that we need help for Hugo up front, a proven goal scorer to help convert the massive amounts of possession we enjoy in games, into wins.
Everton have no further injury worries from their midweek game and Bobby has a full squad to choose from, unless Scharner doesn’t get over a slight knock on his knee. We will be hoping we can go one better than the 1-1 draw we earned at Goodison but we are capable, on our day, of doing it.
The reality of course is that this is going to be a very tough game to get something out of, goals is what we need, Caldwell seems to be a great addition to the defence and the midfield is benefiting from the inclusion of McCarthy. I think, given a few more games these players will gel well and if we can get a striker in over the next few days then even better.
