After the tremendous victory over Liverpool midweek, Bobby has to make sure his confidence boosted Wigan Athletic side pull out the same performance against a Bolton Wanderers team that was beaten 4-0 by Sunderland on Tuesday.

Latics make the short trip over to Horwich for hopefully a rerun of the display we saw on Monday night and more convincing scoreline to boot. At least since their move to Wigan….. sorry Horwich, we don’t have to travel as far to see the usual dross that the Trotters usually do (we used to have to go 10 miles, whereas now they are only 5 miles away).

I am probably being unfair a bit there as apparently Owen Coyle has got them playing football, I’ll believe it when I see it, but more amazingly they have managed to string a couple of results together which sees them a place and a point above us in the league, that position remained as the team with the worst current form in the Premier League thumped them 4-0 midweek.

The funniest thing about Bolton is how they comment that we (Latics fans) consider them our rivals in much the same way that they consider Manchester United as theirs, one day they will awake out of this dreamland and realise that they will never be United’s rivals and that if they could turn around their record against us we would be better equipped to understand where they were coming from. It must hurt them when they see that out of the 33 games played between us, they only have 12 wins, not exactly punching above our weight with these me doesn’t think.

Latics will go into the game with no extra worries and will more than likely start the game with the same team that handed Liverpool their ninth defeat of the season, Bolton on the other hand will have to do without Davies, Cahill, Basham, McCann and Holden through injury plus Rickets will be serving a ban for his sending off in the Sunderland game.

There has been a mad ticket rush after our victory over Liverpool and so we should have a decent following to get behind the lads again, let’s hope we do better than the 0-0 draw at the DW Stadium a few weeks ago.
