18 March 2012 at 11:55 pm #83489Average home attendance ! Not bad considering ! I think that is up on last season !It’s also amazing that the media seem to have backed off us on this front, might be due to the fact that QPR are getting lower home attendances than us.
OK their ground only holds about 18,500 but I’ve not heard or read one negative thing about QPR not selling out for every home game.Blackburn Rovers are also not that much in front of us and their ground capacity is over 30,000. :woohoo:
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!19 March 2012 at 12:18 am #83493Gotta be on average larger gates than our lodgers as well ! The old rugby town monkey is gonna be on our back until the demise of RL itself I feel ! Might not be that far off actually !!

Why lie :woohoo:
19 March 2012 at 2:16 am #83503Uncle Dave, must have given the local schools more free tickets than last season thenF’ck all to do with Dave Whelan – he doesn’t run the club.
They give out just as many free tickets as they have done in previous seasons – they just control it better these days.
Let’s see if you can come back with a grown up response.

maggot.
19 March 2012 at 7:15 am #83510Dont forget all those Man Utd fans who have now attended a Wigan home game and will therefore be eligible to purchase a ticket for the forthcoming fixture.
Other than extra freebies being dished out, I cant see a reason why more people would pay – no win at the DW in 7 months is hardly going to have folk stampeding to the DW ticket office.
19 March 2012 at 10:15 am #83511I have noticed with the increased free tickets, more MILF’s appear to be turning up with their kids. Keeps the game from getting boring (MILF spotting that is ;)

You’re a bit thick aren’t you?
You answered your second statement with your first statement.
As the free tickets given out by Wigan Ath (AND Wigan RL) are allocated in bulk to schools, local football clubs, youth clubs etc, and therefore the details of those attending are not entered on the club’s database, the only way of getting yourself on the database is to purchase tickets.
For the Man Utd game, purchasing one ticket will not suffice, and if people purchase tickets and then don’t attend, it is flagged up.
Therefore, if you are a Man Utd fan and want a ticket in the home end at Wigan, you’ll have to purchase tickets for other Wigan home games, at least turn up at the stadium and possibly sit through a couple of games you have no interest in, and then buy a ticket in the home end for the Man U game knowing full well if you show any support for the opposition you’ll be frog-marched out. If you’re willing to do that, then fair play, you deserve to at least get into the ground.
19 March 2012 at 3:43 pm #83527A group of lads got on my train at Moorside-Swinton.
Heard them talking about finding the ground so I asked them what the crack was…
One had won a ticket through that Barclays ticket give away and brought his 6 mates along for the journey.
Assuming his mates all bought a ticket its not a bad coup!
19 March 2012 at 5:31 pm #83539For the Man Utd game, purchasing one ticket will not suffice, and if people purchase tickets and then don’t attend, it is flagged up.I didnt say they didnt attend – there are plenty of Man Utd fans within a 5 mile radius of the DW who would have attended, and probably attended against Swansea and/or Villa, and will probably attend against Stoke on 31 March, just to get a ticket for the 16th April. There’s also plenty of Wigan people who will be wanting a last chance to see Man Utd live, who will be attending games at the moment to qualify for the right to buy a ticket – Lets see if all these “new fans” still turn out to watch the game against Newcastle, where you may expect the crowd to be around 23,000, seeing as the away end will sell out.

I would have thought that it would be cheaper and less hassle for anyone who was desperate to watch Man United live to simply buy a ticket for a game at Old Trafford.19 March 2012 at 6:43 pm #83542I didnt say they didnt attend – there are plenty of Man Utd fans within a 5 mile radius of the DW who would have attended, and probably attended against Swansea and/or Villa, and will probably attend against Stoke on 31 March, just to get a ticket for the 16th April.16th April? Seems an awful lot of trouble for United fans to go to see us play away at Arsenal on 16th April.
You quite literally don’t know what day it is, do you?
