26 April 2010 at 1:35 am #30752Did you know that Latics have never won a league game on St George’s Day in the 30 or so years we’ve been in the football league?
Brilliant

Latics fans know we get similar home support to the rugby, it’s the rugby followers who refuse to acknowledge this. They’d have you believe there are a couple of thousand genuine Latics fans, while they can draw 20k with a little success, it’s a tale of delusion.
Without major promotions their average attendances would be down to 12k-13k. PS, don’t ever call these freebies, that would make rugby followers seem rather silly after slagging Latics off for similar initiatives in recent seasons.
They also have the nerve to still call Latics fans thugs and what not despite the trail of hooliganism and disrespect they’ve left behind them this season.
These arguments are tiresome and circular, but they will continue until the rugby section acknowledges Latics achievements. Of course this will never happen, therefore you will continue to see a great many rugby fans wishing Latics go out of business.
You want a couple of examples-
‘Cockney liar?
What’s the differnce between a wigan rl fan and a latics Mon?
Class. They have none. Bereft of cultural resonance in the town’‘Idiots and *not that word please* the lot of em……unfortunately we have to wait for another year for the D1cks to get back in their rightful place!’
Quite ironic considering the thread these comments were posted on.
Amazing how the Tics were brought into that thread when the orignal poster was moaning about some chubbies abusing a minutes silence .
Shame on them
27 April 2010 at 2:35 am #30911It looks like we only get fans into the ground on free tickets, are overwhelmed with away supporters, while the rugby only count 10% of their free tickets!
I take it they’ve never heard about differing away allocations (less than 4k for Liverpool this season), ticket restrictions etc……
