Just realised, we have 4 recognised strikers and so far they have bagged a massive 4 goals between them! Now there is something fundamentally wrong when stats like this are apparent! I would suggest going back to the tried and tested dual striker formation, the formation that got us into the Premier League in the first place! It has to be applied and adhered to and I am confident that a change of fortune ( No pun intended ) would come about sooner rather than later. My suggested pairing would be Fortune and Riera.Which two would you go with?

My pairing would be Holt and Waghorn, as they are the only ones with a track record or even look like they know were the net is.
The others have had chances and failed miserably, but as a dual strikeforce would certainley have a better chance.7 December 2014 at 8:57 pm #136590Just realised, we have 4 recognised strikers and so far they have bagged a massive 4 goals between them! 7 December 2014 at 9:11 pm #136591I was told yesterday that he has a shoulder injury at the moment, but should soon be back in contention.
A strike partnership of Caldwell and Rogne, or Al Habsi and Nicholls would be better than what we have had up front this season.7 December 2014 at 9:24 pm #136592I was told yesterday that he has a shoulder injury at the moment, but should soon be back in contention.

Delort or Riera wouldn’t score in a knocking shop on current form.
My pairing (on current personnel) would be Fortune/Waghorn. Waghorn would give flexibility to the formation eg could be 4-4-2 or switch to 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1 as the game develops..or any mixture of the formations.
If/when Holt returns, then provided he is fully fit then yes I would start with him instead of Fortune.
7 December 2014 at 9:38 pm #136593Not gonna happen boys until someone at the club finally realises that we are no longer a Premier League side and that all the continental fancy formations don’t cut it in the football league.

What current form is that then? The only time they’ve played together is the last reserve games and Delort has scored 3. Why does anybody even consider they’ve been given a chance when all of our strikers have been asked to play in their own backs to goal? Never understood why strikers are bought when they’ve bagged a hatful playing a certain way then their asked to play solo and hold it up.
It’s like our last few managers have had their brains removed. It isn’t fcking working why are we still doing it?????

It might all be a conspiracy to have us back in the shithouse leagues, where we belong according to some! All the ‘Goole Away’ crew will be in their fuckin element then ! :)
8 December 2014 at 1:50 pm #136609Fortune…..simply doesn’t score. Delort poor from what iv’e seen…Riera ….no thanks,so it’s Waghorn and Holt for me……

Forget alleged spats with Rosler. He was poor from the start under Coyle, and although marginally better at Huddersfield, they are not exactly desperate from him to stay with them for the season.
8 December 2014 at 2:53 pm #136611It just goes to show what a pretty shit squad we have these days! Boozy Joe and Gomez are sorely missed along with the 2 macs, those 4 alone would change the whole complexity of the side! I honestly cannot name one player who would interest any Prem club or promotion chasing side in the Championship, not one!! I am going to start up the ‘Darkside’ again, who’s in?
8 December 2014 at 5:00 pm #136618I agree Holt didn’t pull up any tree 1st time around but beggars can’t be choosers and unless we do some striker business in the window then I would roll him out again .Remember Fortunes stats, for a striker they are laughable…..remember he doesn’t score and please don’t remind me how hard he works cos when he does get a chance he always fluffs it.Something like 7 in 80 games is it ? So if we continually start with him then were relegated now.To put it simply, Waghorn apart our previous leaders bought s*** forwards.
9 December 2014 at 12:32 am #136633Was there no buy back clause when we sold Bosselli?
From Matlock to ManU
What a journey!9 December 2014 at 2:10 am #1366399 December 2014 at 2:50 am #136642You could have been reading about Fortune there, loads pf pace and energy, willing to do his fair share of graft in defense.
We already have a forward that works his socks off, but has a poor goals per game ratio in the championship this year, we don’t need another.
