My view on today’s pathetic, disgraceful, etc, etc, performance.
Spurs basically ‘ra*ed’ us today. I was moaning on the phone that we were 3-0 down. I put the phone down and it was 6-1. Christ, that’s worse than damn awful.
9-1? Just NOT good enough…..at ANY level.
For a team to concede 8….that’s EIGHT goals in 45 mins of a game shows the team for what they are. If anybody has been coming out with the ‘let’s defend Roberto and the lads’ spiel is still deluded after that, then they deserve shaking. Hard.
I don’t care if you are reading this and going all defensive with the “Did you go then?” jibes. Balls to that. Thank god I didn’t go. I will NOT go to away games, as frankly, we are bad enough at home.
All those who were so full of praise for Roberto after the forum the other night, and who say it was a great night…..just be thankful it’s not this week, as I think it would be postponed.
Roberto, nice bloke that he is (and he is, make no mistake) is, at the moment, out of his depth at this level. Come on, it’s obvious. We collapse far too easy and there’s never a plan B is there? The backroom staff has no top flight experience, and by god is it showing.Sentiment is ruling over sense at this club. I was smirking at Bolton, thinking Megson may go soon. I don’t know, I think without the sentiment Roberto would be heading the same way. (I’m not saying he’ll be sacked after this, mind)
I’m watching MOTD to see how sh*t we are and to hear what they say.
I really don’t care about the ‘glass half full’ brigade (what a wa*k modern phrase that is, by the way) and what they think. Roberto has so far this season, managed to find positives in 4-0 defeats and 5-0 defeats. Well Signor Martinez…..I await to hear the positives from that today.
If I was a manager, at whatever level, and my team was getting fu*ked like that, I’d seriously be thinking of walking.
Sentiment or sense? We could be a nice, homely, 2nd Division club, with a staff full of good ‘ol boys, trying to play pretty, neat passing football***……
…Or we can be a progressing top flight club, with a hard-faced manager, who plays to players strengths, rather than to please the eye. We might not always be pretty, but we grind out results.
I know which I’d have.
***Play pretty, neat passing football? What, like Crewe. :?
(Awaits loads of abuse and smart-ass replies. Sorry if you feel the need to, but you can’t honestly take anything good from a 9-1 defeat. Surely?)

There’s just no pleasing some folk ;)
22 November 2009 at 10:26 pm #13414The only positive I can think of is Spurs won’t want any of our players come January…. :?

Not just scored – it was a goal that Thierry Henry would have been proud of.
