I’m getting my laughter gear ready for your game against Preston in a few days:
Big Local Rivals
Cheap Tickets
Plenty of notice of the fixture, rather than 5 days.
Large travelling supportAll this would point to a big attendance….
See you on Wednesday night. ;)

18 September 2010 at 2:08 pm #46692You’d have to search long and hard to find anyone who actually thought the game last night would attract a 15,000+ crowd.
In the context of it, 8500 Wigan supporters shelling out for an additional game at short notice that, in all honesty, most hadnt budgeted for, is not a bad effort. True, its not great, but it shows that 8500 people cared enough about their club to get off their arses and cheer them on to a win.
Compare it to the 3000 Wiganers who shelled out for a cup replay against Notts County at short notice and suddenly 8500 doesnt look too bad.
But of course attendances dont matter to Latics fans do they….
18 September 2010 at 2:14 pm #466933’500 Hull last night, still get a poor crowd.
18 September 2010 at 2:14 pm #46694Is it true tickets to the game last night cost £26 ?
Thats scandalous, arent adult season tickets only about £75 or something ?

19 September 2010 at 1:00 am #46730exactamundo ;) I thought Anton Newcombe was delusional. he as nothing though on these RAGS that infest this board
19 September 2010 at 3:32 am #46734Ahh, I get it now, 8,500 is perfectly acceptable for a top flight game, 2 or 3 games from winning the title, especially when compared to 2 cup ties against 2 teams from a lower division.
Huge difference in the status of those games….yes Notts game was a very poor attendance and PNE will probably be, but unlike the eggmen, we acknowledge our support is poor, whereas they can’t because they know given the same circumstances, ie challenging for trophies, WAFC would attract far higher crowds then them
19 September 2010 at 3:47 am #467362 or 3 games from winning the title?. how many games do they play?. if they got beat last night might they have had a wild card to play the team that had the least players sin binned? so they won on Friday night?. if they get beat in there next game is that the end? or perhaps the captains from the 2 best losing teams have a egg and spoon race. the teams who get through to the semis do they? NO I GIVE UP! I have no idea who gets through to the FINAL! it’ a JOKE

19 September 2010 at 9:43 pm #4677115525, of which approx 5,000 were supporting Man City…
The Wigan public love their football, dont they.
19 September 2010 at 10:52 pm #46778They do indeed.
The pubs of Wigan will have been packed for the big game today………………………those pesky Mancs lulling those cheeky-chappy Scousers into a false sense of security before finishing them off.
