Just considered I’d put a thought or two down.
Message boards like this thrive on rivalries, differing opinions, etc. I view it as a “virtual pub” – somewhere people can come for a bit of banter, consolation (when we lose), shared elation (when we win) etc etc.
Provided people behave to reasonable standards of behaviour then we are fairly tolerant of differing opinions. The odd expletive may slip by and we’ll frown but let it go, but continued obscenity will be penalised.
Similarly, differing opinions/taunts about our own team or our rivals, from whatever sport, are OK provided they don’t become obsessive. Carrying on the pub analogy, anyone who starts monopolising the conversation with a monotonous repetition of insults that have no constructive point and talks louder and louder, will be asked to leave.
Just saying, like.
Was in a pub one Christmas many years ago when two respectable 50s-ish office ladies came in. One asked the other “what will you have?”
“Oh no” she replied. “You paid last year”.
True story.
