A FANTASTIC day at the DW Stadium with The Kano Foundation and the kids
2 Schools from Scotland came down and all in all a memorable day for myself the headmaster and teachers from St Angela’s in Darnley,Glasgow and all at the Kano Foundation and those behind the scenes who made this all possible
Thoroughly enjoyed the day despite the score and poor football on offer, decent first goal albeit it wasnt Wigan,or Caldwell who a few of us had onto score, and the children enjoyed a truly memorable day, and went home smiling with their new Latics tops and other merchandise and im sure some great stories to tell their parents
The work these guys at the Kano Foundation do is a credit to all football supporters
The Wigan staff and support were a credit to English Football and the hospitality and generosity of the club giving the Kano Foundation 50 tickets for the children, speaks volumes for Latics, and also praise
for those at the club, making their day extra Special esp for arranging Gary Caldwell and Shaun Maloney to take time out to speak to them prior to kick off, also the Mascots Blue and Phoenix who continually shook hands with them and stopped all afternoon to take photos and sign programmes etc and hold the Kano Foundation Banner
The kids singing was hilarious and the Latics fans must have been wondering who these great children were down the front
Thanks to everyone involved
Next season it is now planned kids from the Wigan area will have the same opportunity to travel up to Glasgow to watch a future Celtic home game and enjoy their day as much as these children did yesterday in Wigan supporting Latics
