Seemed pretty shit for us but may have been OK if picked consistently in a steady team. Doing pretty well with a regular place in the side at a club pushing for promotion to the Premier League. Not good enough for us though.

Bournemouth and Brentford haven’t done too badly with lower attendances and no parachute payments.
15 April 2015 at 3:00 am #141265But they have played positive football with heart and passion and probably a consistent team.

15 April 2015 at 3:13 am #141269But how impressive would Adam Forshaw be in a team full of Adam Forshaws, or Ben Watson in a team full of Ben Watsons?

He wasn’t sold becuase he was deemed not good enough.
But many people who posted on this forum however, did say he wasn’t good enough.

What’s that got to do with it?!We were paying more than we could afford, so players had to go.
Bournemouth and Brentford perhaps pay their players less, but they have better managers.
(Although Bournemouth are owned by extremely wealthy Russians)
15 April 2015 at 9:28 pm #141303We were paying more than what we could afford??? How could we afford his wages 4 months earlier when we signed him? He was signed then on this seasons pay structure.

With a great second half to last season and high expectations, they backed Rosler financially, with the aim of getting back into the Premier League.
But as it all started to go tits-up, attendances dropped, hospitality sales trailed off, Whelan appointed Mackay and spouted his nonsense to the press, sponsors pulled out, new sponsors u-turned etc
Then add to that the realistic possibility of a drop into Division 1 leaving a big hole in finances.
Players had to go to prepare for the worst, and anyone sellable was sold.
