It has been announced by the Premier league that agents fees have risen to £70 million in the past twelve months
Our own club’s figure was £5 million
Greedy leaches
30 November 2009 at 11:33 pm #14278What is more suprising is that we spent the 5th largest amount on agents…
Manchester City £12,874,283

Liverpool £6,657,305
Tottenham Hotspur £6,066,935
Wigan Athletic £5,527,548
Arsenal £4,760,241
West Ham United £3,576,972
Portsmouth £3,184,725
Bolton Wanderers £3,166,611
Everton £2,008,407
Sunderland £2,007,040
Aston Villa £1,708,374
Hull City £1,599,188
Manchester United £1,517,393
Blackburn Rovers £1,610,885

Surprised Manure is that low just over a million
1 December 2009 at 12:27 am #14292Tottenham’s is misleading.
That’s just the cost of brown envelopes for Appy Arry.
1 December 2009 at 12:36 am #14293£5m on agents is a shocker. Is this the only way we can get half decent players to Wigan ? Must admit when you think that Charles Z joined us so quickly you had to wonder who was getting what. I hope this doesn’t mean we have been paying agents to seel our players as well. Could that explain the big payouts for Valencia and Palacios. I get more cynical about this league everyday.
1 December 2009 at 2:24 am #14309I was very surprised to see us 5th and on £5m, esp. given how little of Whelan’s war chest has been spent on incoming players compared with other teams.
That must mean that we’ve had to pay agents fees for the sales of Palacios and Valencia, and would explain why, even after Whelan has siphoned off most for his retirement, we’ve hardly seen any cash from those sales spent this season.Unf**kingbelievable.

Another what 32? Spit it out.First of all i’ll apologise for the outburst of ffs typed after a couple of tinnies :D
Now then we have had arguments on here before about the accusations of Whelen as yourself put it syphoning off money and I think it was Standish walker who had the facts about the amount of money involved in the 2008 season with a wage bill of £38 million .
And including Sky money plus ST just about breaking even at the time it was stated the club ad a lot of debt which had to be paid off to which i think a huge chunk was owed to Barclays .
We can’t pay a huge wage bill of that magnitude on gates of 18000 something has to give unfortunatly we will have to carry on finding these little gems Like Valencia and Palacious to keep the club on a even keel .
1 December 2009 at 2:14 pm #14329I may well be wrong but I’m sure most agents have somehow wangled it so that they get a cut from both the selling & buying club in a transfer.
If that is correct, seeing how Latics were involved in outgoing transfers of about £40m just from the sales of Heskey, Palacios, Cattermole & Valencia not to mention the incoming transfer fees (the value of which escape me) for N’Zogbia, Rodallega, Scotland, Gomez, Diame, Thomas, Amaya it all adds up to a fair old wack of which the grubby agents get their cut -
