Looked awful yesterday, at fault for the 1st goal and it was his poor header that caused Bramble to foul Lee Hughes for their 2nd.
Is it just me or does anyone else think to sign Diame we had to sign Amaya with him? I may be looking into it too much BUT Bobby has signed him and only ever played him in cup games + he doesn’t look good enough. The only other thing I can think of is that he was a cheap back-up option.
24 January 2010 at 4:43 pm #19416I think at the time we signed him we didnt have much back up in central defence and was a cheap option. Dosent look good enough however but dont think we will see much of him now we have Caldwell and the african lad.
24 January 2010 at 5:00 pm #19425amaya,
25 January 2010 at 7:55 pm #19624Should be renamed “Amayawful” yes you are!!
To be honest, I can’t see Gohouri being that good either
25 January 2010 at 8:26 pm #19626So you are judging a player after he has trained with the team for less than a week and watching him play for 45 mins.(assuming you were there of course)
Feck me!!!!!!!!25 January 2010 at 8:40 pm #19629He got released by Hamburg half way through the season, so I assume they released him because they thought he was terrible and not as his contract just ran out as it was mid season. He didn’t make the African Cup of Nations squad for Ivory Coast. I’ve heard that he was uninterested and poor in a reserve game. And in the game against Notts County, he was hardly a rock at the back.

So why did our manager sign him then?
25 January 2010 at 9:19 pm #19636Why did Paul Jewell sign Aghahowa, Haestad and Ormerod? Why did Alex Ferguson sign Taibi, Kleberson and Veron? Why did Rafa Benitez sign Lucas, Voronin and Dossena?
25 January 2010 at 9:28 pm #19638Anonymous
Why are you arguing ?
25 January 2010 at 9:59 pm #19639not really arguing more of a debate/discussion.
25 January 2010 at 10:07 pm #19641My thoughts?
Against Hull I wondered why he didn’t play every week.
Against Notts I wondered why we’d signed him.
Just goes to show – you need a bit more evidence before raving about or at any player.
The jury’s out.

I thought the same but i also think lee hughes is better than any of the hull forwards
26 January 2010 at 12:23 am #19687He got released by Hamburg half way through the season, so I assume they released him because they thought he was terrible and not as his contract just ran out as it was mid season. And in the game against Notts County, he was hardly a rock at the back.It was Borussia he played for, not Hamburg, and his contract expired in December. He didn’t get on with the coach because of his off-the-pitch antics (have you seen the message sent to Jayt by the Borussia supporters club?) but was still regarded as a legend by the supporters. He might not have looked too impressive in the reserves game, and tha match on Saturday as he hasn’t played for a month and a half, and be realistic, would you select someone to play for your national team who hasn’t actually been playing?
