I’ve just seen that Zaki has wound up at a new club. It’s one in Turkey that I’ve never heard of. Erzegzpor or something like that. And to think, had he knuckled down, kept his discipline, he could have been reaping the benefits now. Ok, he would probably be at another club, but the fact that because of his poor attitude and discipline stopped him from achieving his potential is terribly frustrating. And had he been here with Martinez as manager, I reckon he would’ve been immense for us, as his movement and power would’ve made him lead the front ‘point’ of our formation ever so well.

Incidentally, we are being linked with a move for Belgium/Morroccan midfielder (how many do we need? or is he a wide player?) MEHDI CARCELA from Russian Billionaires (I will have a go at this!) Azhdi Mahdevikia.*** who is also being pursued by West Ham. (who isn’t?)****

*** I doubt I spelt that right. Next time I might just copy and paste….

**** West Ham. The Premiership’s version of Purple Aki. (Chasing everybody)

Zaki was good in that first half of the season but alot of his goals can be put down to how well we were playing as a team under Bruce at that time.

When it all started going wrong for whatever reason he was arguably one of the worst players in the team.

I think he’d already spat the dummy by then.

The first part of that season, he was being likened to Alan Shearer. Had he kept his head, carried on scoring, and knuckled down, we’d have had probably one decent season out of him and then flogged him to a decent European club for about 20 million. So everybody would’ve been a winner.

Unfortunately, due to attitude and ego…..it didn’t happen.
