supposedly us and newcastle are after him. I know he was average in his time here, but he has done really well the last few years and has anyone seen the two goals he scored running from his own half???
So what are your thoughts would he be a good signing or another duffer?
3 March 2011 at 6:49 pm #61119Interested that we’re linked with a full back to replace/back up Figueroa?

Or was you talking about this bloke?
http://www.teamtalk.com/fulham/6789446/ … m-interesteither way he must be better than figueroa
4 March 2011 at 12:32 pm #61213Another player who I dont think had much of a chance with us. Only pl;ayed a handful of games and I thought he looked ok when he played at the beginning of the Hutchings season

I would definitely have him back, I still rate him and he never really got a chance the last time he was here because (IIRC), Bramble and Scharner were the preferred options?
If you include the talk about Roy Carroll the other week, we should look into re-signing all our former players? Baines, Roberts and Valencia spring to mind…
6 March 2011 at 3:38 am #61382can not think of a reason not to have him back. Very tidy defender and not given a blink of a chance here. From what i saw of him, he looked the part
6 March 2011 at 1:19 pm #61406granqvist is a centre halfI was talking about this bit. Should have made it clearer.
“The Latics have also been linked with FC Twente fullback Roberto Rosales.”
6 March 2011 at 1:46 pm #61410I would take him back as he wouldn’t have to be great to be better than Gohouri and the Chuckle brothers.
7 March 2011 at 11:50 am #61493Granqvist was given his chance under Hutchings & like most of the other players looked okay to start with but gradually got worse & worse & more than played his part in that long run the team went on of straight defeats
What signed his death warrant at Latics was a truly shocking performance away at Bolton when we got stuffed 4-1 in Bruce’s 2nd game in charge. Bruce made several important decisions after that game – one of which was that Paul Scharner was not a premier league quality midfielder & needed to play centre half & another was that Granqvist was too slow.
Admittedly that was the best part of 3 years ago & he could have improved markedly since then but he was pretty cr@p back then

Does that not sound familiar??? Gary Caldwell had a shocker at Bolton in a 4-0 loss and instead of being dropped Bob makes him club captain.
And we wonder why we are in the shoite with Bob in charge

You’ve just turned a thread about an ex-player into an anti-Martinez thread. That takes some doing.
8 March 2011 at 2:03 am #61574Was it not Andreas who was called upon 30 mins before kick off due to a late injury. When he was asked to get warmed up, he couldn’t because he’d eaten plate full of chips sausage n gravy. I s*#t you not.. :snooty:
