It has been very quiet in regards to what staff are leaving and who might be coming in.
News today is that Mulensteen has left united with Phelan and Steele as Moyes is set to bring all his backroom staff from Everton to United.
Will this have a knock on effect with Martinez now able to bring his staff to Everton and Coyle able to appoint here?
We could do a lot worse than signing up any of the departing 3 United coaches if they had an interest in staying in the area.
27 June 2013 at 5:57 pm #116967I’m sure I read somewhere over the weekend that Jones is going to Everton along with most of our backroom staff, but Graham Barrow doesn’t want to move and is staying with us. Also that Coyle was bringing two that were with him at Bolton, including Phil Hughes as goalkeeping coach.
27 June 2013 at 6:07 pm #116969If the rumours are to be believed then Phelan wants to try his hand at management
If the rumours are also to be believed Meulensteen left United coz he didn’t want to move away from being first team coach back to the youth level & he now feels that he’s ready to move into management
I’d imagine that if either rumour is true then the chances of them agreeing to come to move to a Championship side as first team coach are less than slim.Dunno about Steele, but I was a massive fan of Phil Hughes when he was keeper here (even got his autograph on the back of my Moscow Torpedo friendly programme!!) so I’d be more than happy with him passing on his wisdom to Latics keepers

If he can’t “bloody rubbish Wigan”
