No, not us for a change – St Helens Town play their last home game of the season tomorrow (Tuesday 21st) at Brocstedes Park, Ashton-in-Makerfield needing a win to avoid relegation from the North West Counties Premier League.

They are offering free admission, so if you are at a loose end tomorrow night and want to watch some football for free …..

        Might just do that.

Was there on Saturday morning with the little un, City did an academy for under 6’s.
Good set up at Ashton Ath, although I was brought up going to the other Ashton when Latics were away but now I live a stones throw from Ath. I’ve been meaning to go for a while, good spot when the weather is fair. (plenty of Latics programmes in the club house)

It was simple – St Helens win and they stay up. Anything else they go down.

Town scored after 36 minutes and hung on – until a 90th minute equaliser relegated them.

Well, do I view that as “I’ve seen one relegation this year, that’s enough”, or “Well, this is the year I see two relegations”? ;)

That club has been well & truly shafted by A.N. Other and I’m amazed that they’ve been able to function, let alone carry on competing in that division for so long.
It’s to the credit of those behind the scenes there that they have
