Do you think it was a good call to start with Ben Watson today ??
4 May 2013 at 10:29 pm #112155We won 3-2, so yes.
4 May 2013 at 11:10 pm #112156Did Watson play in defence or midfield? We’re a bit short of defenders at the moment.
Anyway, Watson has had the benefit of today’s game. Golobart came on as sub, and Alcaraz and Caldwell may also be fit this week. We may, unfortunately, have to replace Beausejour – Espinoza may be the best candidate.
I’m puzzled by Martinez’ selection of McArthur. He was rested/dropped for the Everton game, and has only started one game since – against Spurs last week. However, he has come on as substitute in every other game, usually in difficult circumstances, as he did today.
We need to win on Tuesday, so we’ll have to play our strongest available team, and I’m sure Martinez would like to Alcaraz play for some of the game. And then, I presume, we’ll do the same on Saturday.

I thought he was slow getting back to prevent the first goal. Bit of a gamble I thought from Bob, but it paid off.

Considering it was his first game back I thought he was fantastic. He’ll be a vital part of the team come the end of the season.
4-1 on Tuesday. Watson, Kone and Macca to score 2. Watch this space!5 May 2013 at 2:13 am #112190I thought he was slow getting back to prevent the first goal. Bit of a gamble I thought from Bob, but it paid off.It looked like he hesitated at one point and lost that vital yard to cut the cross out

Ne mind who was bad little wee man shaun was head and shoulders above anyone on the pitch. He showed passion chasing lost causes right to the end + not forgetting the 2 bits of magic to set up 2 goals.

Yep, agree Shaun M is our best player at the moment by a country mile. Lets hope he can bag a hat trick on Tuesday
5 May 2013 at 9:37 pm #112249Ben got his body in the way of 2 goal bound shots. He seemed to sit as the middle centre back come sweeper. His vision was good but some of his passing was rusty.
Shame about JB he seemed to have got his mojo back.
