Did Fortune play up top on his own? ;)

No but Cosgrove and Robles did and I’ve been moaning about giving um a chance in the first team.

Not that I wish the man dead of course but I wonder if his epitaph will read “sadly missed”.

I am certainly glad he came on on Saturday, he did great to get that cross in for the winner.

Me too and I don’t think any other player we have possesses the kind of strength he showed to get to the line and put in that cross.
22 April 2015 at 4:32 am #141530I noticed one patch of play on Saturday.
Fortune received the ball in a poor position close by the right touchline. Three Brighton players surrounded him but he shielded the ball trying to wait for support. He managed to hold the ball, and when help did finally arrive he played a neat touch and then moved past the defender into space. The ball was played back to him (not brilliantly) and he attempted a cross which hit a defender.
The moaners around had a go at him – forgetting (or being too dim to see) that he had created the opportunity in the first place.

Exactly why he is an asset if used right. Mckay played him in behind and headed for the box giving him a target. Too many times this season he’s been isolated and as we know, he hasn’t got that goal in him when that happens.

I know both teams had to play on it, but having been there on Saturday I’m not surprised that the Latics youngster didn’t get anything from the game
The pitch at Radcliffe is on quite a steep slope and it was rock hard, dusty & bobbly as owt.
The Rochdale players would have been used to it whilst it will have hampered Latics silky smooth, on the deck, passing game -
