What a difference a game makes. All we ask as fans is that players give 100 % and leave everything on the pitch. The players did that in abundance tonight ,they played the Wigan Athletic way .They did not do that on Saturday and were very poor. Tonight the old aggression was back ,James McClean back to his fiery self, Max chasing everything in midfield , Watmough and Tilt giants at the back.Superb , it’s great to see the lads finally win a game at home !
12 October 2022 at 12:00 am #197227To be fair to the lads there as no lack of effort on Saturday but tonight there was an extra level of desire to get the win. To a man we were excellent and I couldn’t be more prouder to be a Tic!
Dare I say as fans we were that bit more up for it as well?
12 October 2022 at 9:06 am #197228Spot on…..thought they to a man worked their socks off…..Whatmough superb. Special mention for Wyke, hardly lost a battle all night. Percentage of balls won way above what Magennis wins. If he not ready for 3 games in a week then I would try Fletcher Saturday who looked good when he came on. Brilliant performance, and result…..can’t ask for more last night.
12 October 2022 at 11:01 am #197229Proud of them last night, after Saturday I was fearing the worst, but what a performance. The desire was there, the chances were there.
If I am being ultra critical though, we need to convert more of those chances and stop the silly mistakes. Power’s ball that was easily intercepted should and could have seen us chasing the game. Keane had a couple of guilt edged chances that he didn’t take, including the goal, had Broadhead not been behind him that ball would have been gathered by the keeper.
Defensively we can be all at sea sometimes, luckily last night we were not punished. But restricting them to 3 shots, none of which were on target looks a good stat, but better composure on their side would have seen at least 2 of those put us to the sword.
Tin hat on.
FA Cup Winners 2013, sounds good that
12 October 2022 at 11:32 am #197235A much better performance against a high flying team.
A few raised eyebrows here and there with some of the play however much much better .12 October 2022 at 11:46 am #197237A much better performance against a high flying team.
