Here we go again!!!
Wigan chairman Dave Whelan believes manager Roberto Martinez will reach the highest echelons of European football and says: “Roberto will be the manager of one of the top three clubs in Europe, I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.”
13 November 2012 at 10:48 pm #96592Whelan really gets on my tits with this shit.
13 November 2012 at 11:28 pm #96594Maybe trying to inflate compensation for when the inevitable happens. Nothing like putting pressure on your manager though.
13 November 2012 at 11:32 pm #96595Just when I mentioned on another thread that he needs to keep his mouth shut !

What a journey!15 November 2012 at 2:49 am #96644Fair play to Dave Whelan for trying to keep the great name of WAFC and our manager in the limelight. If he doesn’t who the hell will.
We have enough people slagging us off all the time, so why not have a bit of positive press for a change.
As long as he doesn’t promote the cuckoos, he can say what he wants.
We would be in a far worse state now if it wasn’t for him.
Incidently, for those, me included, who slag our style of play off at times, did anyone watch Braintree and Tranmere last night. Fancy reverting back to that level??? No, me neither.15 November 2012 at 3:04 am #96645Anonymous
Didn’t he once predict that Paul Jewell would inevitably get one of the top jobs in football management?

Doesn’t take much to get some posters wetting their pants. He’s predicted a few things in his time as chairman owd Dave has, but the one that really matters to me is getting Wigan Athletic in the EPL. Anything else is a bonus and no its not a case of settling for relegation battles every season, its about slowly progressing from here on. In football terms we have been catapulted into our current position, the next stage may take quite a few years to achieve. B)
