Either way, I’m affraid Bob is gone to me, he obviously wants to move on and the public face of this means he doesnt care about the Wigan fans.
Even if he does stay he will be planning his next move in 2013 and we will become a side thought.
Good luck Bob but we all need to move on.
Don’t talk rubbish, Bob has had nothing but respect for Wigan Athletic and the fans. Liverpool are a huge Club and came in for HIM, he was’t looking for the move.
I have no doubt things could have been different if the Reds had been in better shape, but luckily for us they are a complete mess at the moment and the Yanks are provingquite well that they have no place in English Football.
The good that may come out of this will be a strong emphasis on the young talent being nurtured, instead of us losing them to the likes of Liverpool due to the lack of resourses.
Bob doesn’t just manage the team he has a defined outlook as to how the future needs to be, whether he is here or not, and that is the main reason I was wanting him to stay…. getting the future backbone of the Club built with serious investment.

Just heard a little rumour, Martinez has been in talk’s with Villa all the time, 5/2 with skybet.
I agree with most of what you have to say Jay – except the bit about ‘he wasnt looking for the move’
Firstly – how do you know he wasnt / isnt looking for a move?
Secondly – if as you say he wasnt / isnt looking for a move why has he spoken to them on more than one occassion? be it Liverpool or VillaLets face it no one knows what the truth of the matter or what is in Bobs head, so all in all what is being said on here, the tv and in the papers is pure speculation
It just makes you wonder why he’s back in the UK after breaking off his holiday to meet up with the scouse yanks.
I personally think, his deadline is Thursday so he will have time to talk to Villa before giving Whelan the bad news.

I have said for ages that he would go Villa if LFC talks break down. The Villa fans are rife on their message boards naming which players they want him to buy off us !! All that work eh !! If LFC have turned him down then fair enough but if it has been his decision then a move to Villa is quite unbelievable over a move to LFC !! :blink:

does the guy want to be at wigan or not if not he should go and whelan get someone else in
i think our job is too tough for him on such a low budget and he knows itWe have a good youing squad and need maybe 3 or 4 signings to compliment the squad so the budget doesnt really matter.. Other clubs like Everton sign players who do well but most of the time they are skint like Wigan.
We need Martinez to stay or the progress we made in the last 3rd of the season was a complete waste of time.. but it does secure Prem football for another season.
Another manager coming in would in my opinion be a real problem regarding us staying up.. Unless they have the same footballing mindset as Martinez.
