Not leaving Wigan to go to Villa, how many agree?

4 October 2011 at 4:33 pm #72134but we do have a right to debate on the subject griff
personally i think for the club it was a bad decision to stay
we are not going forward as a club but totally the opposite
what we need is a manager who has a plan A or B
unlike bob who is like a one way system totally frustrating at times
and is tactics sometimes begger belief4 October 2011 at 6:13 pm #72138but we do have a right to debate on the subject griff

4 October 2011 at 6:23 pm #72139I think it was right for the club and right for Roberto to stay here.
Look how we have progressed as a club since he came…the youth team are coming along in leaps and bounds, the reserves are getting stronger all the time, there are plans for new training facilities….you have to build from the ground up, and I’m sure when we can finally get the proper first team fit and playing well we will start to push on.
As for did Roberto make the right decision for himself..no doubt about it. Fans like Villas wouldn’t give him a chance if they strung a couple of loses together…at least here the vast majority of fans realise that Roberto is still learning and his time as a player means something to us.
4 October 2011 at 7:47 pm #72140I think it’s ironic that a club like Aston Villa should consider Roberto Martinez to be managerial potential, seemingly preferred to Alex McLeish, yet he is considered useless by many who post on here.
So to all those detractors, would you prefer to see McLeish here rather than Martinez?4 October 2011 at 8:05 pm #72141Look how we have progressed as a club since he came…the youth team are coming along in leaps and bounds, the reserves are getting stronger all the time, there are plans for new training facilities….you have to build from the ground up, and I’m sure when we can finally get the proper first team fit and playing well we will start to push on.Unfortunately Yick , a small minority of our “fans ” haven’t got the vision to see all that. To them we’re only as good as the last result.
It’s like the muppets at Blackburn. Demonstration one week – they beat Arsenal so it’s all quiet – lose a few more games and it’s Kean out again.

So to all those detractors, would you prefer to see McLeish here rather than Martinez?Well they where daft enough to give Gerard Houllier a job as manager. ;)
McLeish any day.imo
5 October 2011 at 1:03 pm #72150McLeish is a poor manager, almost bankrupt Rangers (Which I would have welcomed) relegated Birmingham and will surely take Villa down at some point.
