Been on brums web site to see what they saying about game on sat, noticed they are doing our game and everton game for 7.50 a pop now thats what whealan should be doing to get more fans through the gate.
Think we will stay up just but it will be arse twitching time right up until the end.
23 February 2010 at 3:30 pm #23969Answer honestly.Does anyone think we would have a full house v Liverpool if it were free to get on?

Yes.[/quote]
I’m still not sure about that Blue to be honest, but let’s assume you’re right and change the question slightly. How low (apart from giving them away) would we have to set the price to ensure a full house? £1, £5?
I reckon there are plenty of tight Wiganers (though not enough to fill the ground) who would come if given a free ticket but would baulk if the ‘price’ was increased to a fiver or even a quid.
Edit: 2-1 to the ‘no’ corner
23 February 2010 at 3:47 pm #23981yes 2-2
23 February 2010 at 3:52 pm #23983All hypothetical of course but I think it would be a full house easily at a fiver, not far off at a tenner, money’s tight for a lot of people at the moment but there were reasonable crowds for the unfashionable games when the club did 3 games for £30, not looked at the figures but I think it helped.
23 February 2010 at 3:56 pm #239853-2 to the yes corner…..
23 February 2010 at 3:58 pm #239863-2 to the yes corner…..Oi, hang on a mo – he’s already voted once
What do you think this is, an Amercian presidential election or summat?
23 February 2010 at 4:10 pm #23995oooops sorry 2-2
24 February 2010 at 12:34 am #24099Yes but out of the missing 7,000, 5,000 would come from Winstanley and Skem with red shirts ;)
24 February 2010 at 1:09 am #24121Not a chance, its on telly and it’ll be on in the pubs and on the net. Wigan would by and large sit on its backside, shake its head at even the slightest error from the players and then wonder from its armchair why the stadium isnt full and we get slated by the media for poor crowds.

24 February 2010 at 2:00 am #24126For a club our size £30 a game is too high, even if it is just for 1 or 2 games. However I was responding to the question about the crowd if it was free against Liverpool, just making the general point that in my opinion, the support we get from the people of this town (and the support the egg chasers get), is appalling in my view. I know we’re not the biggest town, but surely for 2 top flight clubs, we should be able to attract a combined gate of close to at least 34-35K regularly, especially with the ST prices both offer.
In fairness though, it isnt just Wigan that doesn’t bother, apparently last week v Fulham, Bolton were offering lad and dad tickets for £12…empty seats everywhere
