thing is nuneaton people like myself who hate the warriors fans do so for a reason me personally as a younger lad if you said you supported latics you where laughed at they belittled our club ….i even witnessed on a bus two young lads been watching latics and a fat guy sat near them get up and hit one lad just because they where latics he was rugby obviously the fat guy got a bloody nose they where not the only latics on the bus….we will never forget or forgive the arrogance of warriors fans….you yourself are you originally from wigan and did you ever experience the arrogance against little latics at the time like most did ?Bicky, I’ve been a tics fan since 1969-70 season and like yourself have been subjected to all the crap from football and rugby fans alike. Why do think I hate the joke sport so much? So when I come on here the last thing I want to see is anything regarding the pissin rugby. I’ve been a member of this board since the off and it is in s mess tbh with all the needless bickering but if we keep it just football and WAFC there is no reason it cannot recover.
well now is a fresh start their is a non football thread so yep time to get this forum up and running again and the mods …if another non latic appears suddenly going on about crowds and so on they should be banned lesson learned ;)
Bickymon, i too hate anything rugby related, especially when it comes to the mighty W W. Like you, i suffered all kinds of abuse for being a latics fan. It didnt help with my primary school being RIGHT next door to central park. Things improved slightly when we merged with st johns & one of the teachers from there was a latics fan. I was in his form for my last year of primary & we always talked about latics.
It never improved at high school until i went to deanery, where i met a few latics fans. (Between 85 – 88). Gradually things improved when i started work. But it is NOW in the present day where it seems to be acceptable to support latics as the town appears to be divided now, apart from those who choose to glory hunt.
As i say, i totally detest the rugby but will not discuss them on here, as this is a forum for fans of WAFC to discuss issues regarding said club.
Far easier that I go. I have a life as me, not as Garswood Latic. I am a real person, who tried to help this forum along. As the general view seems to be that I have it wrong I’ll get on with being me, supporting my team (or in fact teams if I want to watch my little local club too), and playing with my grandkids. No problem. If you see me anytime come and have a pint (better if you buy :) ) and discuss Latics, or the price of fish. Here here, I speak for all the tics fans who know you personally George, or know of you, when I say that you are a great ambassador for this club and its fans. There is not an ounce of nastiness in you and I fully understood why you have been so lenient with this guy, its just your nature.
Me and many others have just had enough of him, he winds people up then throws in the odd sensible, none wind up post, just to refer back to when posters fire into him.
I urge you not to leave this board, you have so much to offer and I find your sense of humour and tongue in cheek posts, very very witty.Have a break if need be then come back re-energised.
If you don’t continue as a poster or mod, I will start a campaign akin to the “Dierdre Rasheed is innocent” one and embarrass you to fek. :PFrom Matlock to ManU
