James, perhaps if you read some of the recent posts you might begin to see what went over your head.
30 April 2010 at 2:34 pm #31357James, perhaps if you read some of the recent posts you might begin to see what went over your head.So you can’t tell me then. Thought as much. I don’t care about previous posts, I was commenting on Griff’s post alone, and nothing went over my head in that post.
30 April 2010 at 2:40 pm #31362Kirk.
Is that a joke or are you being serious? And I am not joking :)
Nice to see Griff…Come onto a thread again..Try to make a completely irrelevant joke and insult somebody..Then getting put straight back down a peg or 2 with the response that clearly shows he was wrong to make the comment  [/quote]
So when you quoted Vat69 you were commenting on Griff’s post alone?
When you quoted Vat69 you were completely aware that he had made a silly post suggesting that Captain Kirk of star trek would make a good captain?
Which is why you had to ask him if he was joking?
30 April 2010 at 2:42 pm #31364Apologies…The Cpt Kirk thing did go over my head  Still was going over my head until you JUST explained it :
The Griff thing was right though, his comment wasn’t funny and was out of context.

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy…
The original poster suggested that ‘maybe’ the question of who should be captain should be one for Martinez. With thinly disguised sarcasm I suggested that might well be true. The point being, of course, that the decision is clearly one for Martinez and Martinez alone.
Now I am 100% sure that Adamski didn’t intend to suggest otherwise and my post merely points out how words can be twisted, as you yourself have pointed out recently.
You may not think it funny (neither did I particularly, if truth be told) but you cannot possible say the comment was made out of context.
Now, my advice to you would be, unless you really understand what’s going on in a thread, just ignore it. Or get a grown-up to explain it to you first.
And finally, yes – I am being gratuitously condescending and patronising towards you. I probably should – and do – have better things to do but I just can’t resist.

I saw it out of context as I assumed when he said ‘maybe’ a question for Martinez, he meant ‘Maybe’ a question for Martinez because Melchiot ‘Maybe’ leaving. Otherwise it would not need to be a question for him just yet. If that was the case then your post WAS out of context. Can look at it both ways I suppose :)

You’d make a good politician, talking utter tripe but managing to (almost) make it sound convincing.
Not been in Rochdale recently, calling nice old ladies* bigots have you?
*the nice old lady is the mother of a woman in my team at work. Apropos of nothing

I had to find a reson to ridicule your post and ‘kind of’ managed it..You have to give credit where it’s due ;)
What do you mean Apropros of nothing? The Bigot comment is obviously of reference to something? :?

Just had a Labour leaflet through the door as it happens, Yvonne Fovargue is their Makerfield candidate, doesn’t say whereabouts she lives, strange that ! I don’t like the look of her either (not that, that should matter I suppose).
30 April 2010 at 3:22 pm #31380Evidently my captain question was not that interesting as the post has moved in a completely different direction!

30 April 2010 at 3:42 pm #31390The Captains armband may be offered as an incentive to somebody new coming into the club.

The bigot comment refers to a tiny item that has been doing the newsrounds over the last 48 hours or so. Get off the poker sites and on to BBC News 24 now and again.

I have placed the leaflet on our mantelpiece to keep the little lad away from the fire

I know what you mean!!! I hear it 9 hours a day at work it’s getting boring!!!
I was referring to the fact that you said ‘Apropros of nothing’…But the comment you made DOES have reference to something. This isn’t me trying to prove you worng or anything (this time ;) )..But I don’t understand why you put apropros of nothing when you are reffering to said story.
